There are 80 Elementary schools in Northside Independent School District (NISD), 7 Elementary Schools are in the immediate area. Only the first 3 on the list below are truly in the Helotes city limits. This is why most attend Kuentz, Helotes and Los Reyes but since NISD tries to keep a close watch on attendance numbers, elementary schools are still being build yearly. New Tomlinson Elementary School 2021-2022
Schools will always be needed in this area since it is one of the fastest growing zip codes in the nation! This school, which is to be named Tomlinson Elementary School, is to relieve two other Elementary Schools, Kallison and Scarborough.
Kallison Elementary which was just opened in 2017 proves there is plenty of growth in the area and expectations of more.
A meeting to discuss the boundaries is Oct 20th at 6:30 in the Harlan HS cafeteria.

- Remuda Ranch

Most residence of Helotes attend O’Connor HS, but some go to Harlan HS. New High School opened in 2022
New NISD schools are being build all the time, but a High School is a big deal. This one is about 430,000 square feet and feature two large courtyards.
Schools will always be needed in this area since it is one of the fastest growing zip codes in the nation! This school, which was named Sotomayor High School (click to read about this Supreme Court Justice), relieved two already bulging High Schools, Harlan and O’Connor.
Harlan which was just opened in 2017 is an impressive 486,000 square feet of modern design. This shows the growth of the area and expectations of more.
