Drive-In during COVID Update
They are open and are spacing cars in every-other slot so the cars are also social distancing! The concessions are also limiting the capacity allowed in the huge building. Those wanting snacks and food may wait but the line moves fast. There is a second line for the restrooms that did not have a wait like we thought it would.
They are further limiting capacity by only having one of the three screens a double feature, so two of the screens are a single movie. The price is adjusted accordingly so check out the show times and prices with the link below. To keep there cost down they are also not showing all new releases. I got to see Nacho Libre and The New Mutants.

We LOVE Stars and Stripes Drive-In theater!
Load up the car/truck with chairs and go watch 2 new release movies for $8/person. The bonus is you do not have to worry about those astronomical treat prices. They have a full menu inside that will not break the bank. My favorite is the chili cheese fries, of course, but you may want to try the corn nugget that comes with the tenders meal. Sorry if I do not have a picture of any of the options, but I’m usually too excited for the movie and my fries.
If you are not in the mood for that type of food, bring your own….yes, YOU CAN TAKE YOUR OWN FOOD AND DRINKS! We have stopped at Costco on the way and picked up a whole pizza and packed some drinks. But Buc-ee’s is right around the corner also, so we have stopped for snack and drinks there too.
The Drive-In Adventure
It’s an all night adventure. There’s only 2 downfall to all drive-in theater establishments. First, the weather, and second, you have to wait for dark before they can start… it can get late. We have been when it’s still chilly, but it is downright cold! You have to be prepared because it is an open field and there is definitely a breeze if you sit outside of your vehicle. One time we made it through one movie outside and then turned the truck around to sit inside for the next. We make it work!
